You're not a developer

Well - not JUST a developer

I’m an optimist by nature - I wouldnt have started a business if I wasnt - or maybe I would, i’m a greedy bastard too 😛

BTW - check out my AI section (its new and its towards the bottom of the newsletter)

But this economic market has been a horrible one - and it continues to be so - there is some light at the end of the tunnel - but its far away

So what are we do to while we’re travelling in this tunnel and how do we create our own light?

Well today, im going to be telling you why you are no longer just a developer - you cannot say the skill of “coding” and “development” is why you will

  • Find a job

  • Have a job

  • Keep a job

  • Progress in a job

This market calls for something more - it calls for MARKETing - see what i did there?

Let’s get stuck in beautiful people

JOBS

USA is hiring

If you’re looking for work or new opportunities - doesnt matter your tech stack - reply here, we have some potential deals in USA

My only question is - if your salary is 100, what would you want to get paid to work USA hours?

  • Would you be okay with 100 but in USD equivalent

  • Would you want USD + 20% for the hours

  • Would you want USD + 100%

  • etc

Honestly a lot of the opportunities im seeing in this market, is more in USA and Asia, but no ways am i going to focus on Asia Pacific, they dont have the budgets and their culture is well, different.

CAREER ADVICE

You gotta start selling

Don’t ask me whats happening with the clipboard…

This is one of my favorite books and it will do a much better job of convincing you, than I can in a Newsletter Post - “To Sell is Human” but Daniel Pink

1. You are not a problem SOLVER

You are a problem FINDER - then i guess after you are a SOLVER after, cause identifying problems is not enough, but i liked the hook so i went with it 😛

You have to start finding problems - find painful problems, in your company, in others companies, in friends companies, colleagues, people you meet and network with

Finding Problems and Solving Problems, this is actually what sales is all about - most people think its half this - the solving problems piece, because if you can solve someones problem, you can make money for doing it - but you cant solve a problem before you find it

2. It’s all “Non Sales Selling”

Your job is to convince, to persuade, to influence and to get the other person to eventually make a purchase - of yourself, of your idea, of your solution, of whatever you are trying to get out of them

Many companies went on record about the fact they had employed and quickly fired his ass.

Links to companies below lead to their job pages, if they have one. All are hiring for full-stack software engineers or AI engineers.

3. The ABC’s of selling - it’s not Always Be Closing

Now, I can’t remember if I saw the film, or not - but Glengerry Ross is a cult classic from the 90s - actually i think i will watch it - also, i think Alan Baldwin did kill someone “by accident” recently on a set of a movie, so its best not to be listening to advice from him, and thats why Always Be Closing is bad advice.

The New ABC:

  • Attunement: Stepping into others’ shoes, understanding their perspective, and adjusting to their needs - not just thinking about your needs you selfish bastard 😉

  • Buoyancy: Staying afloat emotionally amid constant rejection by keeping an optimistic, resilient mindset - you will get rejected worse than a highschooler with pimples and braces

  • Clarity: Helping others make sense of information and find problems they didn’t even know they had - i have had so many people just talk my ear off, and i sometimes stop them and ask them to get to the point, i blame it on ADHD and Autism, but who knows if i even have any of that shit

Dont go in for the close - 97% of the market are not buyers, only 3% are active buyers - this is a common marketing stat thrown out there - i think it is very accurate, and that means, if you are trying to close, 97% of the time it wont work

Which means you should be informing people, giving them valuable advice or interesting ideas - so you can stay top of mind so that when that buying decision starts - you’re top of mind and they go in for the buy

ANYWAY!!

Go buy the book, im done writing here 😛 on to the next section grasshopper

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ADVICE

This is a new section

Ok so a few episodes ago (newsletter posts) - I wrote this post about how in demand AI people are, so much so, that a dude literally had 10 jobs at once lol...

Now, i’ve been getting into AI for content creation but also for learning about AI tools, here’s 2 cool resources i found, it’s mostly for marketing, BUT, like I said, you are a marketer, so get to marketing

1. A new Newsletter about using AI in everyday life

It’s vibe marketing made easy

2. A youtube channel for automation and AI

I liked this video so much, i actually tried it out and even commented on the dudes video (rarely do i EVER comment on youtube videos, so thats a big deal)

Now - while I was writing this section, its sort of valuable enough, but I know i can do better so here is a piece meal attempt to make this section more valuable

So go to this website and do the following:

Btw (i made a video of the below steps here - pardon the background noise, im in a cafe on the beach on the Albanian Riviera (more on that in the personal section below)

  1. Create your free account - you’ll have 5 AI posts for free

  2. Go to Create Post - create 4 posts, one for each of the types highlighted in the red box in the screenshot below

  3. Keep rewriting those posts with AI till you like the idea and post

  4. This will get you 4 posts, for Free, that are actually good, and you can post them on Linkedin - obviously not all at once

  5. Post them and move them to your FEATURED section on Linkedin

PERSONAL STUFF

We are in Albania

Yes, land of drugs, mafia and probably not a lot of great stuff

But it is beautiful, it is very cheap and im here for 5 weeks, so im making the most of it - i’m in Vlorë Albania if you really want to know the location 😉

Writing this newsletter, and made that above recording for you, all while sitting at a cafe at 10am on a Saturday - Yes working on the weekend baby!

THATS A WRAP

What did you think about the AI section
