This guy is a 10X engineer
Doing 10 jobs lol
So I was doom scrolling twitter (X is a stupid name) and I came across a post that was awesome
A developer in India of all places, was absolutely crushing it, and everyone hated it
Today, i wanna chat over employment and what I think about it
Get your popcorn ready, cause this is a juicey story

JOBS
Everyone’s hiring

This is a nice hack for LinkedIn
Search “I’m hiring, Im hiring, We’re Hiring, Always Hiring”
Look for Posts and Look for People
Comment on the posts, connect with the people
Try stay away from External recruiters, go directly to CEO, CTO, Head of IT, Head of People, Internal Recruiters
It’s a great way to get direct access to people hiring and get seen

CAREER ADVICE
Working 10 jobs lol
PSA: there’s a guy named Soham Parekh (in India) who works at 3-4 startups at the same time. He’s been preying on YC companies and more. Beware.
I fired this guy in his first week and told him to stop lying / scamming people. He hasn’t stopped a year later. No more excuses.

1. Nothing’s wrong with having 2 jobs - its actually even legal in most countries
I wouldn’t have been able to start my business if I couldn’t start on the side and there is no way most companies would exist, if their founders couldnt work on the side or work two jobs
So go on - have multiple jobs - but you had better do them well, else don’t even bother… This guy sucked at all his jobs lol
2. Something is wrong with not delivering on the jobs
This dude got hired and fired more times than a shitty Football manager in the Premier League
Many companies went on record about the fact they had employed and quickly fired his ass.
Links to companies below lead to their job pages, if they have one. All are hiring for full-stack software engineers or AI engineers.
Playground AI (YC19, AI-first graphics editor.) Hired Soham in 2024 and fired him after a week.
Leaping AI (YC W25, building voice AI agents that are human-like and self improve): hired him, then fired him when they found out he also worked elsewhere
Fuse AI (YC W25, agentic sales platform for GTM teams): fired himwhen they found out that Soham was working parallel at Leaping AI
Digger (Terraform pull request automation) onboarded him, but terminated him a few days into the job, founder Igor Zalutski told me. The company terminated Parekh when background checks raised red flags. Digger was conscious about the risk of “moving fast” in hiring before background checks completed, but this was a calculated risk.
Fleet AI (agent engineering platform). Hired and fired within a week.
Lindy (AI assistant platform). Hired and fired a week later. Aced the interview, but was slow with work.
Create (creating software with AI): hired him and promptly fired him. Create is an in-person startup. Amusingly, Soham showed up for one day at their SF office, but often had a reason why he could not attend.
Animetal (AI platform for infrastructure) Hired in 2022 and fired shortly thereafter. They realized he must be working multiple jobs.
Ponder.ai (video AI). Worked at the startup until the news broke, when he was fired.
ComfyUI (open source, Node.js-based app for GenAI) hired Parekh for 3 weeks in June. The interview went well, then things started to fall apart.
3. AI is absolutely mental - the demand in the industry and skillset is SKY high
AI is a Sellers Market (aka a Candidate Market) - most of tech right now is a Buyers Market (A Employers Market)
Candidates are getting paid up the wazoo, they are demanding perks, benefits, pay packages, like they’re fking Christiano Ronaldo
Meta is going ham here - they literally offered a guy 100 million USD (2 billion rand lol) as a signing bonus and 2 billion rand a year as a salary

INTERVIEW ADVICE
How do you get a second job?
The easiest way - honestly - is just working with dev agencies, these guys need talent, they sometimes want part time talent, or they want full time but on short contracts of 3 months
This is where you can come out to play - yes you will work your ass off, but also yes, you can make ZAR250k-500k in 3 to 6 months and most of that is take home and not taxed
Im talking of Seniors here - Juniors and Intermediates will get 1/3rd to ½ of that
You need to be very good at your job - else, you’re wasting everyones time
You need to be available and have the time - else, even if you’re good you’ll suck
You need to be searching for these opportunities - events, linkedin, reddit, twitter, discord, slack - go hunt for these opportunities 😄
Im always keen to hire people already working BUT only if you’re actually very good
You need a highly in demand skillset and AI is where it is at

PERSONAL STUFF
My excuses
I went on holiday last week
Ended up in Algarve Portugal for 4 days
I took my mom and my girlfriend, rented a nice airbnb on a golf course nearby the city and enjoyed beach, food, rest, and one or two bottles of wine

THATS A WRAP
