Sneak Peak to the give away

The SECRET GIVEAWAY - $1000’s of data for you for free

PLUS I made a video on how you can use that data to get those high paying remote jobs

Sit back, take notes, then take action

JOBS

Making the most from DEAD job boards

This is a job board that’s dead - and that’s why its a ripe with opportunity

  • It’s no longer used but they didn’t delete the old jobs

  • You can filter for specific tech stacks - just find yours

  • Reach out directly to the companies - Search them on LinkedIn or go to their careers page on their website and apply

How you can use this board

  • You should find the companies hiring on Linkedin,

  • Reach out to their founders, CEOs, CTOs and Tech Leadership

  • Message that you saw they are interested in African tech talent - and continue the convo from there

Hope you enjoy

CAREER ADVICE

Go long

Ok I don’t wanna make too many American analogy, but this one hits hard

When you ā€œGo Longā€ in American Football (a BS sport btw) - it basically means you start running without looking behind, it means you start moving forward but with no definite target in mind

And this really goes hard for your career

A lot of you just need to start moving forward, to go through your career with a forward trajectory

  • Dont look back at missed opportunities

  • Don’t look back at mistakes and failures

  • Don’t look back at your successes and rest

You need to move forward

  • Run forward with a belief that where you are going is going to work out

  • Run forward with a belief that obstacles will come and go

  • Run forward with a belief that it will work out

You all want the perfect next job, the perfect next client, the perfect next move

It doesn’t happen that way

What usually happens is - you move in a direction, and someone sees you moving in a direction they want or need, and they toss you the ball (the opportunity)

You just gotta catch it

INTERVIEW ADVICE

English - Your Secret Weapon

I don’t care if you have an accent, if English is not your first language - and no one else does either

But people do care that you can communicate well - especially in a remote world - it’s a must-have

A lot of people are going to underestimate you because you are from South Africa

They hear ā€œSouth Africaā€ and think San or KhoeKhoe - This is you advantage, this is your time to shine - You’ve really got an opportunity to impress them and capture their attention and interest

The Easiest Way

Loom or Tella

Record a nice little intro video - personalised to that person

  • Introduce yourself

  • Show you’ve researched the company

    • Recent hires

    • Discuss their Tech Stack

    • News and Announcements

  • Drop a thought as to why you’d be valuable

    • Skills and Experience

    • Budget and availability

    • Time, effort, culture, diversity

Pick a card and play it
